The office of the Dean of Students headed by Mad. Nelly Dorborson in collaboration with the SRC on the 16th of November 2022, launched a student relief programme dubbed “food bank” to assist students with special needs, especially, in the area of food and other petty provisions. The event took place at the CSUC auditorium.
To ensure integrity and continuity of the programmme, the counseling unit as well as the chaplaincy of the CSUC have also been brought on board for proper coordination.
Inspired by the current economic challenges facing the world today, this initiative seeks to provide support to needy students in order to ease them of some of the challenges they face and also to enhance their academic life. The provisions bank is expected to cater for more than 500 needy students of the CSUC.
The bank will stock up nonperishable supplies ranging from food to other consumables such as toiletries and many more.
Consequently, the management of the Christian Service University College under the leadership of Prof. Sam Afrane impressed by the initiative, promised to support the programmme in every way possible to succeed.
Thus far, the initiative has attracted the attention of some concerned alumni of CSUC such as Mr. Michael Kofi Gyimah (Kofi Gyimah Enterprise Limited) who have made considerable donations and also promised to do more in support of the initiative.
