Christian Service University staff has welcomed the New Year with an exhortation of hope, steadfastness, and dedication, to reaffirm their commitment to excellence under the University’s newly chartered status, themed, “Working as a Team and with New Attitudes: Lessons from Nehemiah” (Nehemiah 2:1).
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong Manso, the new Council Chair and immediate past General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Ghana, urged staff to uphold diligence, teamwork, and reliance on God’s guidance in advancing the University’s vision amid challenges. Referencing Nehemiah 2:17-20, he emphasized the need to rise together to strengthen CSU’s newly chartered status while safeguarding its reputation.
The Minister of God encouraged staff to deeply understand and commit to the University’s vision, fostering clear communication and collaborative efforts. He highlighted the need for identifying and addressing areas of weakness constructively while remaining optimistic and seizing opportunities within challenges to ensure CSU’s growth and success.
In a statement of hope, he underscored the need for the right attitudes, altitudes, and aptitudes in implementing the University’s vision while admonishing staff to focus on collective goals and avoid distractions to ensure CSU’s continued success.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sam Afrane, highlighted the retreat as a time of thanksgiving, fasting, and prayer, drawing inspiration from Ezra 8:21-23. He emphasized seeking God’s protection, provision, and guidance to align with His direction and leadership in fulfilling the University’s vision for the year ahead.
During the devotion session, the University Chaplain, Rev. Anthony Boateng-Agyenim, encouraged staff to adopt new attitudes and innovative approaches to achieving personal and team goals. He emphasized striving for excellence by likening their mindset and actions to the resilience and vision of an eagle.
The Annual New Year Staff Retreat on January 11, 2025, united Management, Academic, and Administrative Staff in a shared commitment to CSU’s mission.
