CSU Community Urged to Go the Extra Mile – SEMESTER THEME

Rev. Anthony Boateng-Agyenim, Chaplain of the Christian Service University has called on the university community to embrace the principle of “Going the Extra Mile” – the theme for the second semester, 2024/2025 academic year. Delivering a sermon inspired by Matthew 5:41, he emphasized the importance of selfless service, peace, and obedience to God’s standards.

Expounding on Matthew 5:38-41, Rev. Boateng-Agyenim highlighted the essence of “going the extra mile” as a direct command from God. He addressed the common human tendency towards vengeance, referencing Exodus 21:23-25, and clarified that the principle of “an eye for an eye” was intended to uphold equity and justice. Accordingly, he urged the community to rise above retribution and live in peace with all.

He reminded the congregation that while justice demands meeting obligations, true flourishment in God’s Kingdom requires a willingness to go beyond mere duty. By embodying this principle, he encouraged the CSU community to reflect Christ’s love and commitment in all aspects of life.

Rev. Boateng-Agyenim delivered this sermon to the staff and students of Christian Service University during the university’s regular Wednesday service on February 26, 2025. The gathering was filled with a joyful atmosphere of praise and worship ministrations, setting the stage for a higher standard of faith, service, and commitment to God’s Kingdom.

Communion and Commencement Service marked

Earlier, the Chaplain officiated a Communion and Commencement Service, a cherished tradition of the university that signifies the official opening of the semester. This sacred gathering seeks to strengthen communal love, unity, and spiritual renewal of the CSU Community, setting the tone for a purposeful and committed academic journey.
