Bridging Faith and Nursing: Dr. Fiskvik Boahemaa Antwi’s mission at CSU

Dr. Fiskvik Boahemaa Antwi is a dedicated nursing educator, innovator, and a researcher, specialized in Adult Health Nursing. She holds a Ph.D. in nursing, Saint Louis University, Philippines, (2023), a Master’s in Adult Health Nursing, Adventist University, Philippines, (2020), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago. Raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Antwi brings a wealth of international experience to Christian Service University, where she joined as a Lecturer in the Nursing and Midwifery Department in January 2023.

Her Ph.D. Dissertation, ‘Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Competency and Research Utilization as Mediated by EBP Beliefs among Nurses: A Basis for a Culturally-Sensitive Programme’, (See: PJN Jan-June 2023 Final v5.pdf) aims to enhance clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. She is passionate about Christian education and is committed to integrating faith-based learning into nursing education at CSU.

Her research interests include Evidence-Based Practice, Nursing Informatics, and Interprofessional Collaborations. She is skilled in Systematic Reviews, Educational Website Development, and Mentoring. She has presented at several international conferences and is credited with two book publications: Confidence in Scrubs (Antwi et al., 2022), and Nurses’ Attitude, Practices and Non-Pharmacologic Cephalagia Management (Antwi, F. B., Osei, S. A., & Peprah, W. K. (2019). Nurses’ Attitude, Practices and Non-Pharmacologic Headache Management (1st ed.). LAP).

She has also developed two learning tools for nursing students: The Nursing Study Bundle – Resources for Visual Learners (Antwi et al., 2020) and The Medical-Surgical Concept Map Learning Tool (Antwi et al., 2023). She is a member of the Trinidad Registered Nurses Association (since 2017), with strong clinical experience, particularly in Medical-Surgical Nursing.

Beyond academia, Dr. Antwi actively engages in community service, particularly, church health education and aged health engagement. She contributes to health awareness through magazine publications and educational summaries. She is a devoted Seventh-day Adventist, a pianist, a graphic designer, and a website developer.

Dr. Antwi is transforming nursing education through the strategic integration of digital technology and social media, making learning more accessible. By meeting students online, she has built a thriving global community of over 500,000 nursing students.

At CSU, Dr. Antwi sees her role as an opportunity to nurture generational nurses within a Christian learning environment to foster professional excellence and compassionate care.
