Christian Service University (CSU) proudly highlights Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Twumasi-Ankrah, known among colleagues and students as “Rabbi”, a seasoned academic, researcher, and theologian, whose over two decades of experience in education have significantly impacted generations of learners and scholars. A proud alumnus of CSU, he graduated in 2011.
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah is a Senior Lecturer in Biblical Studies in the Faculty of Humanities, Department of Theology at CSU. He joined the university in 2015 as a part-time lecturer and became a permanent faculty member in 2019. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in August 2024. Currently at CSU, he serves as Dean of the Weekend School (2024–present), and previously served as Coordinator of the MA in Christian Ministry and Management programme (2020–2024). He is also the Chair of the University Mentorship Team (2023–present).
Education and Career Experience
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah holds a PhD in Religious Studies with specialization in Biblical Studies – Old Testament from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST-Ghana), awarded in 2023. His research focuses on Biblical Studies, Old Testament Studies in the context of African life and thought, and Biblical Hebrew interpretations. He also holds an MPhil in Religious Studies from KNUST, a BA in Theology with Administration from Christian Service University, and was trained as a professional teacher at Akrokerri College of Education.
Prior to joining CSU, he held both part-time and full-time lectureship positions at several private university colleges, including Synagogé Biblical College, Ghana, where he has served since 2016. He also dedicated 14 years to the Ghana Education Service (both public and private schools) as a teacher of Religious and Moral Education and English Language, during which he served in various leadership roles including Academic Head, Acting Headmaster, and Housemaster.
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah is widely respected for his passion for academic excellence and integrity. He is a mentor and examiner, shaping both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and nurturing future theologians and ministry leaders with depth and discipline. His academic leadership is matched by a strong publication record and active peer engagement.
Research and Professional Contributions
A respected scholar, Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah is a full member of both the Institute for Biblical Scholarship Africa (IBSA) and the Society for Biblical Literature (SBL). He also serves as a peer reviewer for six international reputable academic journals, including:

- Scriptura: Journal of Biblical, Theological and Contextual Hermeneutics
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah has authored 12 books, including the notable title, Sexting and Sexual Injustices Against Women in Ghana (Assurance Press, 2023), and has published 12 peer-reviewed journal articles. An additional nine articles are currently under review, underscoring his ongoing scholarly engagement. He is an active ResearchGate member with over 6,000 reads. Innovation, Ministerial and Social Impact
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah is the CEO of the Synagogé Institute of Biblical Languages—the first of its kind in Ghana—where he leads efforts to advance the study and teaching of biblical languages, particularly Hebrew, within African theological contexts. He envisions becoming a Professor of Old Testament Exegesis and Biblical Hebrew in African Christianity.
He is also the Founder and General Overseer of Logos Chapel Worldwide, and serves as Executive Director of the Synagogé Council of Churches and Pastors’ Association (SYCCPA), promoting leadership, mentoring, and collaboration within faith-based communities.
His work continues to inspire excellence, knowledge-sharing, and transformative leadership in both academia and ministry.
