A two-day Workshop on Thesis Supervision has ended at CSUC. Organised by the Centre for Leadership and Professional Development (CLPD), the workshop formed part of the capacity building programme for the academic staff of the University College.
Under the topic, “Understanding the Techniques and Skills of Research and Thesis Supervision,” the interactive workshop was aimed at enhancing the research skills of lecturers. It was also aimed at equipping them with the requisite knowledge and attitudes for supervision of student thesis.
Thematic areas included choosing a research topic, research process and supervising a graduate thesis, as well as anticipating and dealing with common research problems. The focus was also on how to establish a productive relationship between supervisors and graduate students.
Prof. Stephen. E. Owusu, Head of Quality Assurance Unit and Rev. Prof. Samuel N. Boapeah, Dean of CSUC School of Business were the resource persons.
About 50 academic staff took part in the workshop which was held on the 30th and 31st January, 2013.
