Christian Service University College (CSUC) has presented a number of health items to equip the Trede Health Centre in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.The items valued at GH¢8,000.00 are a Rambo poly tank, whirlpool refrigerator, two veronica buckets and clothing for babies and adults at the health centre.
The presentation forms part of the activities marking the 40thanniversary of the CSUC which started as Bible College in 1974 and now a University College since 2005.
The President of CSUC, Prof. (Mrs.) Frances Owusu-Daaku who made the presentation said Trede was a twin town to Sabin Akrofuom which has donated 11 acres of land to the CSUC for infrastructure development and having considered the plight of the health centre the presentation was worth it.
She indicated that CSUC was poised to establish its School of Nursing at the new site at Sabin Akrofuom and that stretching forth its helping hand to the Trede Health Centre was a step in the right direction.
She called on the authorities at the health centre to make good use of the items to develop the centre. She however, expressed gratitude to the traditional authorities of both Sabin Akrofuom and Trede for the support.
The Principal Midwifery Officer In-Charge of the centre, Fortune Dunyo and the Trede Sub-District Health Leader, Yvonne Fordjour expressed gratitude to CSUC for the presentation.They promised to use the items for their purposes to help enhance health care delivery in the Trede area.
The Atwima Kwanwoma District Internal Auditor, Kwesi Ngeyam who represented the Acting District Health Director, Samuel Adu Sakyi said the health directorate was making efforts to stem the tide on filth especially, with cases of cholera and ravaging Ebola Virus Disease andcalled on all to join the campaign against filth in the neigbourhoods.
The Sabin Akrofuomhene, Nana Osei Kofi was joined by the Trede gyaasehene, who represented the Tredehemaa,Nana Adwubi Kete III to receive the items on behalf of the health centre.
They pledged the full support of the traditional authority towards quality education and health to improve on the lot of the community.
