Christian Service University College (CSUC), Kumasi, introduces a 9-Week
Mature Entrance Course (CSUC Access Course) into its academic programmes.
This is a paradigm shift from its 6-week traditional Access Course which has
existed for the last three (3) years.

CSUC Access Course is a programme geared towards giving training to Mature candidates aged 25 years and above to qualify
them for University undergraduate degree programmes. The move also forms part of the ‘Quality Improvement Programme’
(QIP) adopted by the University College to produce quality graduates and experts for the job market.

According to the Vice President of CSUC, Dr. Peter White, “Living in a world full of competition and dynamism requires
continuous reflection and revision of our mode of packaging and delivery of products. This approach would help us to be
relevant and also meet the needs of society. As part of the QIP, we have modified our mature entrance programme to
improve quality delivery and flexibility in the running of the programme.”

The Vice President mentioned that the extension of the 6-weeks is in the right direction of the University’s rebranding
efforts and hence, has overriding merits to prospective candidates. He indicated that the 9-week session will include
8-weeks of intensive tuition in three (3) different subjects (modules) which are Mathematics, English Language
(Language and Literature) and Information Technology, while the last week will be used for examination.

Dr. White further explained that the Course will run in three different batches within the year. He noted that the flexible nature
of the modules will provide opportunity for students to join next available batch to rewrite failed subjects till one passes.
On his part, the President of CSUC, Prof. Sam Afrane, hinted that the first two batches will be prepared for August
/September admissions whereas the third batch will be prepared for January admissions.

Another unique feature of this 9-week Access Course is Certification. Proficiency Certificates will be awarded to participants
who successfully pass the Access Course.

The University community uses this medium to inform the general public and encourage interested applicants to enroll for the
CSUC 9-week Access Course. ‘Become a University graduate, beginning with the CSUC Access Course’.
