Christian Service University College, Kumasi (CSUC) has received commendation for its unique Christian discipline in the training of men and women in higher learning. Rev. Vincent Kofi Abaka Acquaah of the International Central Gospel Church, Kumasi revealed this while addressing Management and Staff of the University College at its 2021/2022 academic year retreat for both academic and non-academic staff on the theme: Advancing through Discipline and Good Customer Care.
In an exhortation lecture, Rev. Acquaah implored CSUC staff to pursue academic excellence that upholds Godly virtues worthy of emulation that seek to train the student-youth to be better positioned in society.
The Rev. Minister cum academician strongly advocated that higher learning institutions including CSUC should ‘see education as a totality of training that encompasses knowledge acquisition with competence’ and must therefore
nurture its students to withstand competition of the job-market.

Meanwhile, the University College President, Prof Sam Afrane and the Registrar, Mr. Kinsley Doku in a co-presentation took staff through operational discipline and work ethics expected of them and took turns to explain the need to incorporate godly discipline and responsible work ethics in their delivery.
Staff were also entreated to continue to offer good services to their clients, more
especially, prioritize student needs to sustain them while maintaining good
brand culture to serve as referrals for continuity of the University College.
In separate sessions, Dr. Mike Adusei, Vice Dean of the School of Business at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology took the teaching staff
through Improving Research and Publications while the Registrar took administrative staff through Quality Customer Service Culture.
Also presenting on commitment to work, Mr Aaron Ahene, Chief Operating Officer at Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans Ltd. Kumasi, took the non-teaching staff through:
Breaking Work-To-Rule Syndrome, whereas the teaching staff
received a talk on Teaching and Mentoring in a Private University from Prof E.
Owusu-Dabo, Pro-Vice Chancellor, KNUST.
During his turn, Mr George Osei-Akoto of Nyonkopa Cocoa Company also charged staff to venture into savings, investments, and other income sources that support their means of living. He further recommended some less capital
intensive businesses for short-term and long-term considerations.
The President finally touched on a review of the University College’s Quality Improvement Programme and further outlined the institution’s Action Plan for the new Academic year while he led an open forum to digest staff concerns.
The two-day annual retreat was intermingled with devotions, prayers and an
attitude of Christian discipline and was fully attended by all staff in an
atmosphere of love.
