Celebrating Our Hard-Working Alumni Award-Winning Journalists – Story by IAO

The Ghana Journalists Association (Ashanti Regional Chapter) has recognized the contribution of 5 CSUC alumni journalists who have distinguished themselves in the field of journalism in Ashanti Region. According to the official website of the GJA, the awards were instituted to “provide platform to recognize individuals and companies that play significant role in the growth and development of the industry while recognising the key functions within the industry that promote growth and sustainability”. In line with this purpose, several journalists including 5 CSUC alumni members namely: Ms. Beatrice Spio Garbrah (Media General), Mr. Elisha Adarkwa (CMG), Mr. Erastus Asare Donkor (Multimedia Group), Isaac Bediako (EIB), and Kojo Bempong Marfo (EIB) received various awards in the field of journalism in the 2023 GJA Awards Ceremony held in Kumasi under the theme: “Recognizing the media as partners in national development”.

At the same event, the media consultant for CSUC, Mr. Kwame Adinkra, a prominent media colossus who doubles as the CEO for Apotiti Consult was also honoured during the awards for his pioneering role in the Ghanaian media landscape for over 20 years.

The Management of the University College wish to congratulate the awardees and encourage them to work even harder to receive more national laurels to further uplift the image of their media organizations and the University College as a whole. The Head of Communication Studies Department, Mr. Asuamah Adade Yeboah, reacting to the news has assured the public that CSUC will continue to train professional and ethical journalists who will transform the Ghanaian society and beyond.
