In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at easing fee payment and banking challenges for students, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Christian Service University, in collaboration with Fidelity Bank and private individual Mr. Joseph Asante, has launched an On-Campus Banking Service. With full support from the University’s management, this initiative ensures students can now conveniently complete financial transactions without leaving campus.
The initiative addresses the long-standing challenges students face in paying their fees. Previously, students had to travel off-campus, endure long queues at banking halls, and sometimes fail to meet deadlines, leading to issues such as loss of payment receipts, mismanagement of funds, and delayed registration of Semester courses. In some cases, students entrusted with fee payments for others have misused the funds, causing academic and financial setbacks.
Now, with the establishment of the On-Campus Banking Service, students can pay their fees directly on-site, receive immediate receipts for clearance, and complete their semester registrations without unnecessary delays. The service eliminates transportation costs, reduces stress, enhances transaction safety, and ensures prompt financial reconciliation by the University’s Accounts Unit.
The SRC, led by President Richard Owusu, repurposed its former Business Centre—previously struggling to generate significant revenue—into a multi-functional space that benefits the student community. The center now offers fee payments, mobile money services, account opening, withdrawals, and savings opportunities while still maintaining printing and refreshment sales.
Operating as a Fidelity Agent Banking service, the bank is open from Mondays to Saturdays, offering seamless financial services to both regular and weekend students, ensuring accessibility, convenience, and financial ease for all learners.
This initiative is a win-win for all parties involved. Fidelity Bank expands its reach, students enjoy seamless financial transactions, and the SRC generates revenue to support its administration. Above all, the service prioritizes students’ convenience, financial security, and academic progression.

The CSU SRC continues to set a precedent for student-led innovation, ensuring that essential services are readily available to the University community.
