Mr. Thomas Asafua Nketsia Wobill is the Acting Director, Centre for Research and Business Development (CRBD) and a Senior Lecturer in the department of Planning at the Christian Service University College (CSUC) Kumasi.
He officially joined the University College in November, 2018 to undertake the day to day coordination of the Centre which covers building capacity of corporate/local government M & E systems, developing short-course initiatives and fundraising through consultancies.
His uttermost goal is to Set-up the CSUC Online distance learning option for the M.Sc. course in M&E, and also for other courses run by the University College.
Mr. T.N. Wobill is an international development specialist with over twenty (20) years professional experience in various capacities including Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E), that spans sub-Saharan Africa.
His rich experience covers Monitoring and Evaluation for public, non-profit and corporate entities in sustainable research and development programmes that include poverty reduction, education, health and agriculture.
The M & E expert has engaged in food security contracts through participatory approaches, and training development programmes with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), World Bank, USAID, UNFPA, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), African Development Bank (AfDB), and the United States Peace Corps.
His expertise covers Project Design, Programme Management, Capacity Development, Gender Mainstreaming, Advocacy, Finance Budgeting, ICT/Information Management, Administration, Fund raising and Human Resource / Personnel Management.
He is a PhD Candidate in Management with specialization in Knowledge Management at the Walden University in the United States of America (2011 to date) and a product of Mathematics and Statistics Departments at the University of Ghana, has a Master of Development Management (MDM) from GIMPA, Accra, and a postgraduate certificate in the Study of Population Issues, University of Costa Rica.
Among his contributions, Mr. Wobill has been involved in instituting annual M&E summits that assemble all M&E institutional personnel across Sub-Saharan Africa for critical reflection sessions to review the institutional M&E implementation processes.
He has also established, led and coordinated an ‘institute-wide M&E team and community of practice’ across Sub-Saharan Africa including Ibadan-Nigeria, Monrovia-Liberia, Tanzania, Cameroon, South Africa, Accra-Ghana and more.
He belongs to the Evaluation Association of Africa, America and the ECOWAS Regional Team of Trainers in M & E including the Ghana M & E Forum/Professional Association. He is also the Co-founder of Liberia Evaluation Association and an affiliate of the M & E News Network.
The Acting Director hopes to refine the Centre for sustainability as he rightly put it, “I am passionate to create something out of nothing for good.”
