It is with utmost sadness that we announce to the CSUC community, alumni, and friends and partners, the passing away of Prof. Emmanuel Frempong, former President of CSUC. His death occurred on Monday, July 11, 2016.
Prof. Frempong was appointed the third president of CSUC and served for five years, from 2007 to 2012, during which he made a great contribution to the development of CSUC. His commitment and utmost dedication, distinguished service and visionary leadership culminated CSUC’s transition from a college into a university college.
Prof. Frempong’s tenure also achieved significant expansion in both academic programmes and infrastructure of the University College. His tenure saw the start of a master’s degree programme in Christian Ministry with Management – CSUC’s first postgraduate programme. He championed the construction of the state-of-the-art CSUC Executive Hostel and the commencement of an ultra-modern Library /ICT Complex. His collaboration with the Board of Trustees, the Council, Management and staff, during this period, led to the development of CSUC’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and services. His future plans for CSUC led to the acquisition of an 11-acre land for further expansion of the University College. He again made significant contribution in promoting the spiritual life and vitality of the CSUC community.
Prof. Frempong also led a rigorous pursuit of global partnerships with world-class universities, resulting in the signing of an MoU between CSUC and Eastern University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Prof. Frempong was a remarkable human being, a vibrant and passionate leader who devoted his life to serving God’s people and had a profound positive impact on the lives of people he touched. He was a father for all, and the CSUC family will fondly remember him for his friendliness and affable ways.
We have indeed lost a great, distinguished and remarkable personality.
May his soul rest in peace perfect!
