A high-powered delegation from the Christian Service University College led by the President, Professor Sam Afrane has called on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene and the Kumasi Traditional Council. The visit coincided with the second Awukudae in 2024 according to the Akan Traditional Calander.
Speaking on behalf of the CSUC delegation, Prof. Afrane explained that three important issues necessitated the visit. The first reason was to inform the Ashanti King of the long-awaited Presidential Charter which will soon be issued to the University College by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to facilitate the process of becoming autonomous and to acknowledge the role played by Otumfuo to facilitate the process. The second reason was to inform Manhyia and Asanteman of CSUC’s 50th anniversary celebrations and to formally invite the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool to grace the grand durbar scheduled for Friday September 27, 2024; and the last reason was to use the occasion to financially support the HEAL KOMFO ANOKYE PROJECT which was launched in November 10, 2023 by the Asantehene. In line with the project, a cheque of GH¢10,000 was donated to the Fund as part of CSUC’s corporate social responsibility.
Traditionally, this formal announcement has paved way for other national and international dignitaries to be formally informed and invited to the grand durbar of CSUC @ 50. The King through the chief linguist expressed appreciation to the team for the timely visit and personally assured to be present at the grand durbar to grace the occasion. It will be exciting to see the Asantehene and his divisional chiefs march majestically to the durbar grounds of Christian Service University College on the scheduled date.
The team was led by Prof. Same Afrane (President) and comprised of Mr. Andrews Kingsley Doku (Registrar), Mrs. Sophia Awortwe (Council member and Counsellor) and Rev. Justice Boffah Pokumensah (Director, Institutional Advancement Office).
Long live the King!
Long live CSUC!
Long Live Ghana!
