Christian Service University College will host the 5th edition of the Luv FM’s High School Debate from June 19 to July 14, 2023 at the CSUC campus. The Luv FM High School Debate is a brainchild of Multimedia Group Limited (Luv FM) and was launched in 2018 to provide a platform for senior high schools in the Ashanti region to develop and share their critical thinking, and public speaking skills. This event gives opportunity for competing schools to develop publicity and also promote team building among each other through an organized debate competition.
Meanwhile, the event, which will officially start on Monday, June 19, 2023 had an opening ceremony on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in the CSUC Auditorium. CSUC President, Prof. Sam Afrane, who chaired the function, commended the management of Multimedia Group Limited for maintaining the partnership with CSUC, which dates back to 2018 when the maiden edition of the High School Debate was held. He also commended Luv FM for initiating this exciting and educational programme. The President assured CSUC’s willingness to collaborate with them and any other institution that wish to work with CSUC to build the nation’s human capacity. He explained that the decision to partner with Luv FM and host the event feeds into a broader agenda for the University College to build mutually beneficial partnerships with individuals and corporate entities as part of the institution’s mission “To promote knowledge for the training of men and women in Christian values and principles, academic and professional excellence for the transformation of society”.
Prof. Afrane urged the participants to prepare well by conducting relevant research to meet the overall requirements of a standard academic debate. He ended his address by reaffirming CSUC’s long-standing promise to offer a full tuition scholarship to the leader of the winning school to enrol in any of the programmes currently run by the University College.
