Staff of CSUC have participated in a retreat to revamp their physical and spiritual reservoirs to enable them face the second semester victoriously.
Prof. Sam Afrane, president of CSUC said the purpose of the retreat, themed ‘spirit inspired and God-honouring service’ was to enable CSUC staff ask God for protection, strength and guidance to enable them give off their best in the coming semester.
The focus of the retreat sought to re-energise the capacities of staff to enable them offer spirit-inspired and God honouring service to CSUC’s varied stakeholders particularly its students in the second semester of the 2016-2017 academic year.
Main speaker for the event, Apostle Prof. Peter Ohene-Kyei, immediate past recor of Pentecost University exhorted staff to adopt the attitude of honesty, integrity and hard work in their work. He encouraged them to see their service to CSUC as a ‘call’ to God to advance His eternal purposes and transform lives.
Prof. Ohene-Kyei asked staff to eschew the typical Ghanaian attitude of ‘playing lase-lase,’ or a go-slow retrogressive attitude when it comes to work where targets are never reached.
In this respect, he exhorted staff to allow the Holy Spirit of God to fill them so they will be empowered to give off their best to the community to honour God.
Many of the staff felt the retreat had been a life-transforming event. The retreat, which was organized by the CSUC management and Chaplaincy Unit, is a perennial activity meant to refocus attitudes of staff on their core mandate: ‘To know Christ and make Him better known.’
