Meet Kofi Amponsah-Kwatiah (PhD)

“An accomplished Academician, Management Expert, and Public Sector Leader”

Dr. Kofi Amponsah-Kwatiah is a distinguished academic and management professional with over 30 years of experience in public service, banking, project management, and procurement. He served in various leadership roles at the Bank of Ghana, culminating in his position as Assistant Director and Head of the Procurement and Transport Office. Currently, he is a lecturer at the Department of Planning, at the Christian Service University (CSU).

He holds a PhD in Management from Universidad Central de Nicaragua (2016) and a Doctorate of Management from SMC University, Switzerland (2015). His academic credentials also include an EMBA in Project Management from the University of Ghana (2007), an MPA from the University of Birmingham (2021), and a BSc (Hons.) in Land Economy from KNUST (1993). Additionally, he has earned professional certifications in valuation, surveying, securities, accounting, and facilities management.

Dr. Amponsah-Kwatiah’s expertise spans estate management, financial control, and strategic operations, with significant contributions to institutional efficiency. His research has been published in reputable journals under © Emerald Publishing Limited, including:

  • Working Capital Management and Profitability of Listed Manufacturing Firms in Ghana – International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management.
  • An Evaluative Study of Public Property Maintenance Practices in a Tertiary Institution in Ghana – Property Management.

As a dedicated educator, he has lectured MBA and undergraduate students at Kings University College, specializing in Management Control Systems, Public Administration, Project Management, and Human Resource Planning. His book, Why They Achieve Little: Low-Self Estimation, underscores his commitment to leadership, innovation, and personal development.

Dr. Amponsah-Kwatiah is an advocate for governance, research supervision, and academic writing. A member of the Ghana Institute of Surveyors (GhIS), and the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG). He is also an Elder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he has chaired various strategic and financial management committees. He is married with four adult children.

At CSU, Dr. Amponsah-Kwatia continues to impact the fields of planning, management and administration with his strong interest in strategy and policy, governance, research supervision, and academic writing.
